What is the Cicero Citizens Police Academy (CCPA)?
- The CCPA is a 9 week, one evening a week course designed to acquaint Cicero citizens with the many facets of our Police Department. Applicants for CCPA must be at least 18 years of age, be a Cicero resident or live in or near the North Syracuse School district (Town of Cicero Residents will have preference), pass a background check, and possess a valid driver’s license.
- The Citizen Police Academy is designed to strengthen the partnership between the Cicero Police Department and the community we serve. Citizens of our community will be introduced to the law enforcement and the criminal justice system. Instructors for the Citizens Police Academy will represent every facet of the Cicero Police Department. Included among these instructors will be the Chief of Police, Patrol Sergeants, and other law Enforcment professionals that have excelled in their profession. It is the goal of the Citizens Police Academy to provide the community with an accurate insight of their Police Department and encourage increased interaction between Cicero Police Officers and the citizens of Town of Cicero.
Where are the classes held?
Classes will be held at the Cicero Police Department located at 6200 State Route 31 Cicero NY 13039

There are no physical requirements to attend. The majority of this section is classroom with some scenarios including our simulator. The hands on section is 100% voluntary.
