Prescription Give Back

Our Cicero Police Department now has a MedReturn prescription drug  collection unit to allow Cicero residents to drop off unused or expired  prescription drugs. Providing this service has proved effective  throughout the country in reducing inappropriate access to drugs and we  are proud to offer this service to residents that was funded by the Town  by the Kinney Drugs Foundation.

Using the MedReturn Service:

Procedure: Resident to drop the packaged items into the MedReturn unit or sharps  collection container. No paperwork, no questions asked. (See below for  Homebound Senior Procedure.)

Hours of Operation: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday

Location: Cicero Police Department (6200 State Route 31)

Home bound Senior Procedure:

Sharps Collection

The Town of Cicero Police Department is a Sharp Collection Site

There  are many individuals with serious health conditions who manage their  care at home and use syringes. For example, people with diabetes use  syringes to inject their own insulin and use lancets every day to test  their blood glucose. In addition, injection drug users use syringes and  needles. Safe disposal of sharps is critically important to optimize  health, safety and protection of the environment. The best way to ensure  that people are protected from potential injury or disease transmission  of blood borne diseases due to needle sticks is to follow established  guidelines for the proper containment of “sharps” syringes, needles and  lancets and other safer disposal practices.

We do not accept any loose sharps or needles.  They must be in a puncture resistant package.
